Your intuition is perhaps the #1 sign that there is something off. It’s quite common for people to rationalize suspicious behavior. Sometimes things just aren’t quite right, yet we justify it by saying, they are stressed, things are busy, or it’s just in your head. Now don’t confuse intuition with paranoia. It’s easy to assume that because you suspect someone of cheating – they must be cheating. But make sure you suspect they are cheating because something is off. If you have been cheated on before, you may be tempted to just assume that everyone cheats. Thereby destroying all of your relationships – whether or not you’re being cheated on. If you think someone might be cheating on you – perhaps you should find a non-confrontational way to address it. Don’t be afraid to talk to your significant other. You shouldn’t come straight out and accuse them, but there’s no harm in telling them you are a bit concerned.

It’s very easy to get into routines with your spouse. You notice little things like how they dress, what they wear, jewelry, etc. Check if your spouse is still wearing their wedding band when they go to work in the morning. Not wearing a wedding band is like a billboard to tell people they they are available on the market. If you see your spouse not wearing a wedding band – they may be cheating.

If you notice bruises or scratches on your spouse, you should definitely ask. If they act strangely or extremely defensive when you ask, it may be a sign that there is something else going on. Those bruises could be from wild sex or worse, a fight with the person that they are cheating on. Keep an eye out for such types of changes to appearance.

Cheaters will often use work as an excuse to be out of the house. They may pretend to be at work when they are cheating. They may use vacation days or personal days to sneak off to have dates. If you notice that your spouse doesn’t have enough vacation time during the holidays, but you can’t remember any holiday that they have taken, there may be something fishy going on.

Laundry can be a dead give away for cheating. After all, soiled laundry means you’ve been doing some kind of physical activity. For a woman, her laundry may start smelling like a cologne that you are unfamiliar with. For men, their laundry may give away signs like lipstick stains on a color. Remember that women will often leave these stains in hopes of helping the man get caught. After all, if you are having an affair with someone, at some point you will want to be the main squeeze. So if your spouse won’t let you touch their laundry, maybe it’s because they are hiding something. You should be especially suspicious if they have refused to do laundry in the past and now suddenly refuse to let you do their laundry.

This is most likely a sign of someone cheating with a coworker. It’s normal for a coworker to call from time to time. Even more so if they are calling for something work related. However, if you find that your partner is constantly talking to a coworker, and those calls are happening late at night, then there’s something up. Remember that your time in the evenings is “family time”. If you find that someone of the opposite sex is suddenly taking up that time, then there’s something wrong.

If they start asking these hypothetical type of questions, you should be concerned. Your spouse may be trying to secretly engage you in a conversation to help them feel better about their deception. If they keep pushing this point, they may also be trying to gauge how you will react if they ultimately tell you that they are in love with someone else. If they ask you this sort of stuff, you should definitely probe further.

Has your loved one stopped mentioning their bonuses? It’s possible that they are either stashing that money to use for themselves or worse, to spend on their secret lover.

Being busy is the #1 excuse for people cheating at work. Cheaters will often change their schedule to start and end work all hours of the day. They may even claim to be working on weekends. Be aware of regular late night working sessions as well as random weekend work. If your significant other is behaving suspiciously and now works odd hours, they may be doing this to deflect suspicion from the times when they are cheating on you.

Is your spouse acting strangely with your home phone? Have you noticed that your caller ID is always empty? Are they constantly deleting entries in the caller ID? If your spouse is doing this, they may be cheating on you. They are most likely trying to hide calls from their secret lover.
