How to use this site

This site is the most comprehensive list of signs of infidelity on the web. Chances are, if you have come to this site, you have some suspicions about a person that you are in a relationship with. While this site does have a lot of the signs of cheating, we would like to explain how you should use this site. We would hate for you to accuse your significant other of cheating, because we convinced you that they were cheating on you!

Rule #1 – Look for many signs – not just one

Most of these signs are harmless if they happen by themselves. There are many signs that someone is cheating, so you should be looking for a bunch of signs all happening at the same time. It is fair to say that unless you find that the person you are in a relationship with is displaying at least 8 – 10 of these signs, you shouldn’t go off accusing them of cheating. It’s imperative that you know without a doubt that someone is cheating before you accuse them. If you accuse someone and they are not cheating, it could backfire on you. This will result in lost trust and possibly end your relationship.

Rule #2 – Trust your instincts

While we have listed many of the signs, you should never ignore your instinct. Your instinct is your absolute best barometer of the state of your relationship. This may sound cliché, but listen to your gut. Also, remember that you should see people for who they are, not who you want them to be. It’s easy to get caught up in the idea of who someone should be as opposed to who they really are. Don’t allow yourself to throw your instinct to the side. Far too often people convince themselves that something that really already knew isn’t really the case.

Rule #3 – Never accuse someone of cheating unless you are ready to leave the relationship

This is extremely important! You should never take accusations of infidelity lightly. Don’t accuse someone unless you are ok for the backlash that might come. You should be prepared to leave someone if you are going to accuse them of cheating, because they may just decide to leave you. If they are the cheater, chances are they will ask you to stick around. However, if they are not cheating, then you are simply paranoid and may become undesirable to them. Once you cross this threshold, the trust in your relationship will be gone. It’s up to you if you want to try to salvage it, but accusing someone of cheating is like coming to a crossroad. So don’t go there if you aren’t ready.

Rule #4 – Always have proof before accusing someone

If you are going to accuse your significant other of cheating, make sure that you have irrefutable proof. It’s best if you have video, pictures, recorded conversations or some other kind of undeniable proof. If your partner is cheating and they try to deny it, then you have the moral high ground because you can prove they cheated. However, if you have no proof, they may simply deny it. Then the responsibility is on you to back up your claims. Also, having proof is also good for your piece of mind. It confirms your suspicions, and reminds you that you aren’t crazy  – they really are cheating.

Rule #5 – If you are in a violent relationship – don’t confront them

If you are in an abusive relationship, accusing someone of cheating can be very dangerous. In such cases, you need to make sure that you ensure your safety first. Believe it or not, abuse doesn’t start out as violence. You should be aware of the signs. If you have any questions, there is a good article for you to read: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/domestic-violence/WO00044 . While confronting them might seem vindicating for you, the backlash may be dangerous. Even if your partner has the signs / patterns of an abusive person but has never hit you, you should avoid confronting them about their infidelity.

Finally, we put this site up to help anyone who suspects someone of cheating. If you have a story of how you caught someone cheating, please post it on this site. People everywhere can benefit from sharing stories on how someone was cheated on.
