If your spouse travels for business – it’s normal for you to know where they are traveling to. Often they will be traveling between two cities where their company has an office. For example, between the NY office and the LA office. However, if your company has no such offices, and your spouse doesn’t have clients in certain cities, but they are always traveling to those same destinations there may be something suspicious going on. Also – if they can’t explain why they are going or the trips have erratic dates (such as weekend trips), they may be traveling to cheat on you.

Cheaters will do a lot of things to ensure they don’t get caught. If your spouse watches the show Cheaters constantly, they may be doing more than just getting entertainment. They may be watching Cheaters so that they can see where people go wrong and get caught. Note also that Cheaters often comes on  at odd hours, so it’s likely that they won’t be sitting next to you when they watch it. If they watch Cheaters all the time – they may be trying to research ways to make sure they don’t get caught cheating.

If your spouse travels a lot, you are used to reaching them at different locations. Most likely, you have called them at the hotel they are staying in. It’s normal for a spouse to let the other spouse know what hotel they are staying in. Do you find that it’s difficult to reach your significant other when they are on business? Do they only answer their cell phone, but never seem to answer from their room? They could be avoiding taking calls in their room because they are not in their hotel room. Alternatively, someone might be in their room with them, and they don’t want to be disturbed. Either way, this is suspicious behavior.

Do you share a vehicle with your significant other. If you have a family, it’s perfectly normal for items from your children to be left in the vehicle. This can be as simple as a pacifier falling between the seats, a toy left on a seat, a car seat being left permanently for convenience, or a baby on board sign. If your spouse has suddenly changed their mind about leaving these items in the car, they may be trying to make sure no proof of having children exists in the vehicle. In such instances, it’s likely that the person they are cheating with does not know that they are actually married. If you find you’re always being scolded for not taking the kid’s stuff out of the car, they may be trying to make sure you don’t heklp their secret lover find out they are married.

There’s nothing suspicious about using birth control if there is a legitimate risk of falling pregnant. However, if you are sterile, perhaps because of having a vasectomy your wife should have no reason to fear pregnancy. If you are unable to reproduce and your wife has suddenly started taking birth control, you should be very concerned. You should be extremely concerned if she is concealing the fact that she’s taking birth control.

Normally people  use credit cards when they take business trips. If your significant other suddenly wants to pay cash for everything on their business trips – they may be trying to hide what they are spending their money on.

Have your spouse’s friends taken over your relationship? Do you feel like the third wheel in your own marriage? If your spouse is always out with friends, they may be using this as an escape from you. Also, they may be using the excuse of being with friends to cover for the times when they are cheating with their spouse. Constantly going out is not a good sign for your relationship.

In a normal relationship, you should have some kind of interaction with your partner’s friends. You don’t have to be their food friend, but you should at least be aware of their existence. There’s a saying, “If you haven’t met their friends, you aren’t their girlfriend!” This is still applicable for marriages as well. If your spouse is cheating they may want to keep their social life and married life separate. They may also not want to have their friends feel pressured to maintain their deception. You should be very alarmed if you don’t know any of your spouse’s friends.

If you notice that your spouse’s coworkers have started to act strange around you  - you should be concerned. If they struggle to make eye contact or no longer try to engage in conversation, it may be because they know your significant other is cheating. This is also a sign that the person that they are cheating with most likely works with them. While a lot of people have a don’t ask – don’t tell policy, their conscience may make them feel guilty when they have to face you!

This is another sign that there’s something going on. Don’t allow your spouse to use the excuse of being busy to be out of reach while traveling. After all, the office will need to be able to reach them when they are on a business trip.
