If your significant other is cheating online, they won’t want you around when they are chatting. They may decide to move their desktop or laptop to another part of your home so that they can have more privacy. If someone is not doing anything suspicious, they should be more than comfortable with surfing the internet in your presence. If your lover suddenly wants to surf the net behind closed doors, there’s probably something fishy going on.

Internet chatting / internet dating by text became popular when the internet was relatively young. Now people have the option of chatting with web cams. This led to a wave of people whipping out web cams on their laptops and showing the people they are chatting with what they look like. It’s common for people to send provocative web cam videos of one another as a way to entice each other. Has your lover’s online chatting progressed to video chatting? If your lover is always on web cams, they may be doing something fishy.

Has your lover suddenly become overly security conscious? If your significant other is using the internet excessively and always chatting, and now has a habit of routinely changing passwords to their machine as well as IM accounts, they may be trying to hide something.

Does your lover seem to love to be online but never when you are around. Do they quickly sign off so that they can spend quality time with you? Do they quickly log off of their instant messengers when you are there. What about if you ask to use their computer? Do they immediately sign out of everything before hanging over the keyboard to you? Also, be aware if they refuse to store their passwords in their machines. Many people store passwords and user names on their machines if it’s a personal machine. If your lover has started leaving this information off, there might be something going on.

Has your lover suddenly discovered the internet? Are they now super secretive around you when they are using the internet?  Have they reconfigured your home office so that you can’t see their screen. Do they seem enthralled with the internet, but when you ask them what they are looking at – it always seems to be something trivial. This kind of behavior is indicative of someone doing something naughty online. Be cautious if you experience this.

There are many online adult services. Most of these services, trying to be discreet for their customers, have mundane names that appear on their credit card receipts. This is so that you don’t look at a credit card statement and see “Adult Dating Services”. This also makes it hard for a partner to see if the service they purchased really belongs to a dating service or online chat. This also goes for porn sites. They do the same things. If you are noticing excessive online service charges but the names seem harmless, just Google them. It will be very easy to identify them.

Since the creation of online chat, the internet has become a very popular medium for dating and subsequently cheating. Online cheating is efficient because it allows someone to reach out to millions of people on a regular basis, try constantly until someone responds, and have a low risk way to develop the relationship without having to sneak around.  This means that your lover can woo someone on the internet, using web cams and sexy chats until they are ready to meet someone. Now it’s difficult to do this when you have company next to you, but if you notice that your lover suddenly wants to be on the internet until the wee hours of the morning – chances are they are doing something they shouldn’t be doing.  They may just be having late night chats with someone they are either cheating with or would like to cheat with.
