Google chats are always off the record

Although this is a built in feature of Google, this feature is built into a lot of instant messengers. If your lover suddenly keeps all chats off the record, they are hiding their chats from someone. They may not want a copy of the chat to automatically pop up at some inopportune moment. If your lover wants to keep everything off the record all the time, there might be some cheating going on.

Secret email addresses

Does your lover have email addresses that you don’t know about? They may be using these email addresses to communicate with people. These addresses will often not contain their name, or will contain a provocative name designed to attract potential people to have an affair with. Take these names for example : BigDawg12, DoubleDeez, JunkInThaTrunk, and  BlondandLonely. If you start seeing email addresses with names like these on your lover’s computer, something fishy is probably going on.

Sudden use of the Google incognito window

If you use the Google Chrome browser, then you probably know about the incognito window. This is a setting that allows you to browse the web without storing any cookies and without saving your history to the browser history. If your lover suddenly wants to use this all the time instead of normal windows – they might just be cheating.

Constantly clearing browser history

Browser history is a web browser’s way of keeping track of what pages you’ve been to. The history is useful because you can search your history for a site you’ve seen but can’t remember the URL to. If you are cheating, you probably won’t want your partner to be able to browse all of the sites that you’ve been to. If you go to your lover’s computer and their browser history is always empty – they are probably hiding something.

Constantly clearing browser cookies

Cookies are small bits of information that web pages leave on your computer. They can be used to track usage or even to store information that was entered in the past in case you return to a site. For example, if you log into a site, the site may put a cookie on your computer so that you can stay logged in and won’t need to sign in again. Unfortunately cookies can give away information about where you’ve been. Also, if you go to a site using a cookie, you may see someone’s login information already filled into a form. If your lover is always clearing their cookies – they may be trying to hide where they go online.

Accounts on adult sites

Adult sites are a common way for people to hook up with other frisky adults. If your significant other suddenly wants to participate in these sites and you aren’t invited to join in the fun, then chances are they are looking to cheat. These sites are full of people who are looking for casual relationships. You will most likely find this on a window they have left open, history in a browser, or worse – from a credit card statement!

New twitter followers of the opposite gender

Is your lover suddenly being followed by tons of people from the opposite sex on twitter? They may be using twitter as a way to keep in touch with potential people to have an affair with!

Constantly sending pictures online

Online cheating requires a lot of visual stimulation to keep a relationship going. No one wants to chat with someone if they don’t know what they look like. Just like requesting web cam chats, online cheating often requires constant sending of photos back and forth. Is your lover suddenly taking pictures all the time? Do they prefer to take photos with their phone rather than a camera? If you’re wondering what the significance of that is, remember that it’s easier to upload a photo to an instant messaging service from your phone than to have to download it and then upload it later when you get to a computer. Look out for this sign!

New IM accounts

Has your lover started creating new instant messenger accounts that you don’t know about? If you are both on MSN, they may not want to cheat online with an account they know. Also, if they are participating in online dating sites, they may not want to use an account you are familiar with. Be aware if you see new accounts appearing and your other half refuses to add you to them.

IM on their phone is constantly going off

Online chatting has gone from just being in front of a computer to also being on your cell phone. In fact, many people use their smart phones ( iPhone/ blackberry/ etc) as their primary access to instant messengers and internet. Have you noticed that your lover is always chatting? Do they always dismiss you when you ask who they are chatting with? They may just be cheating through instant messenger.
